A typical concrete surface includes many imperfections, micro-cracks and pores that make concrete a surprisingly porous material. This porosity allows moisture to soak into its surface and promote deterioration and staining. Polishing concrete involves first grinding down the surface with diamond tipped grinders, then applying a low-viscosity surface sealer material that absorbs into the concrete and forms crystal structures within the micro-pores on the surface. This treatment substantially increases density and reduces the porosity of the concrete surface, which provides the following benefits:Reduces long-term moisture related deterioration
